Best Seattle Real Estate Blogs and Resources

Obviously, I think the Coffee With Roy Seattle Real Estate Market Updates are really good. Roy does an awesome job talking about Seattle’s real estate market. And we do a blog and a video about this subject every month.

Even top producers like Team Diva go outside our bubble to get insight into the Seattle real estate market. Anytime we need some advice on the shifting market we specifically look at our peers. And what are the smart economists at Zillow and Redfin also saying about the market? Below is a complete list of what I think are the best Seattle real estate blogs and resources.

Let’s dive in!

NWMLS

We are all dependent on the NWMLS for access to the real estate data. Including many of the following blogs and news outlets. Check out their Latest Housing Activity News section and check out their raw data. The updates that come out of the NWMLS is what we use when we are having conversations with our buyers and sellers.

Heidi Grover at the Seattle Times

The Seattle Times has EXCELLENT news reporters talking about the Seattle real estate market. And they are always up for reporting on the tough issues of our time. Very few reporters hold our larger industry accountable for tax equity, racist zoning, and the general politics of housing affordability.

Here Are a Few Articles We Have Been Quoted

Thanks for being awesome!!!

Daryl Fairweather at Redfin

Redfin is known for hiring some of the smartest people in the industry. Daryl Fairweather is the chief economist out of REdfin. During the housing crisis, she worked as a researcher at the Boston Fed studying how and why homeowners ended up in this mess. Daryl’s recent take on inflation is a must-read for any of us prepping for the next market shift.

Zillow Research

Ok yes I know I never talk about Zillow or their tools. But once again Zillow is a huge tech company that employs super smart people. And why shouldn’t I utilize that information? Zillow Research is a secret little hidden area where they release their analysis on the market. And it is free!!!!

Coldwell Banker Bain In the Know Seattle Real Estate Blog

Full disclosure Coldwell Banker Bain is our parent company. They have slowly been doing a blog and producing some great content. Just recently they interviewed our team member Rocky flowers about what it means to be Black, a REALTOR, and doing real estate in a predominantly white city. Representation Matters: Rocky Flowers Of Team Diva Talks Inclusion And Community Outreach

Urban Living

Matt has had this real estate blog for a really long time. The Urban Living blog specifically delivers us all that real estate eye candy our dreams are made of. In recent years there have been additional content creators added to the mix. They do a great real estate market update. But we all still crush on the way Urban Living blogs about their dreamy homes.

Seattle Architecture Foundation

Look for events at the Seattle Architecture Foundation. This group of architects is really good about staying on top of Seattle’s zoning laws. And some of their members have put together talks about how Seattle’s zoning has led to our affordability crisis. They are amazing resources for many of us at Team Diva. We try not to miss any of their talks!!!

Jenny Wetzel Homes

Jenny is a real estate referral partner with Team Diva. And she does the best real estate market updates in the region. Hands down we think her content is accessible and easy to consume for the average buyer and seller in our region. We keep close tabs on Tacoma because many of the market shifts start in their region first. Watching how Jenny weaves the conversation for her clients is truly an inspiration.

Move to Tacoma

Lately more and more of our Diva Dwellers have been selling their homes in Seattle and moving to Tacoma. And the first place we direct many of them to is to Move to Tacoma’s Neighborhood guide. The guide is great and provides a ton of resources about the Tacoma real estate market.

Windermere Whidbey Island

Believe it or not many of our downsizers and retirees are looking to move to Whidby Island. And the first person we call is Kristen Stavros at Windermere in Whidbey Island. She always knows how to match up our Diva Dwellers with an empathetic broker who knows the area. And hands down Kristen’s blog does a great job articulating the community that is Whidbey Island.

Bonus: Seattle Bubble

Here is the deal. Data doesn’t lie. And whatever my fellow real estate peers think about the creator of the Seattle Bubble blog in the end it is just about data. Backstory. When I was a new broker the market was crashing and we all had to scramble to stay in business. And many of my peers took it personally that a blogger was revealing all of our dirty secrets. And in the end, they were true. I personally do reference the Seattle Bubble blog every once in a while. Real estate professionals are innately positive people. Sometimes you have to see the full picture to get a good perspective.
