Have you ever wanted to live life like a Diva during the summer? This summer we will be getting our new Loft Condo on Capitol Hill in order. We will also be doing the usual Diva fun stuff like throwing a Pride Party, hitting the beaches, BBQing with friends, and of course doing activism to prepare ourselves for the mid-terms.

Also….. one thing I wished we had done differently last summer! Prep our house for sale. Lord we could have saved so much time and angst if we followed our own advise.

What are you talking about diva?

The summer season is also the time when we do the majority of the work for prepping our Diva Dwellings. September through November is our second busiest listing season of the year, with the majority of that work happening in August.

Meanwhile, most of the real estate industry is taking time to play. The Divas are here to slay the market!

Live Life Like a Diva This Summer

Living life like a Diva is a vibe more than it is an actual place. The vibe includes connecting with friends, taking naps in the afternoon, and getting outside. It is also about showing up for your Diva Dwelling and making sure it is in top shape for the coming rainy season.

Here are our top tips for living life like a Diva this summer:

Come To Our Pride Party

Summer starts with a bang as soon as you make your Pride plans. This Pride season we are planning a huge party on Pride Sunday at the Diva HQ also known as The Loft on Pike.

Plan on joining us on Sunday, June 28th from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM.

Right now you need to go through your closet and find your cutest rainbow gear. Being queer means building community. Organize your community and do a Pride clothing swap event. No one needs to shop in a place that won’t hire us or our friends and family.

Living life like a Diva is finding the perfect Pride outfit and showing off that goodness at the Diva’s Pride party.

Book Some Time at Lake Diva

Our beloved lake house in Long Beach turns five this summer. The memories from the last five summers are filled with solstices, beach walks, camp fires at the lake, and paddling around during the day. One of our favorite things to do is to share our fab Mid-Century home with our Diva Dweller crew during the summer. Keep an eye on your email inboxes for an invite to book your long weekend at Lake Diva.

Barbecue Party is Peak Living Life Like a Diva

Grill baby grill!!!! Last week we were in Palm Springs practicing our summer tans and of course hosting a barbecue for friends. Apparently, there is a huge group of Seattleites who now have forever homes in Palm Springs. Anyhoo, it was so nice to grill some flank steak, bake some focaccia, and serve a huge summer salad to all of our guests.

Get Some Beach Time

Nothing says summer like going to the beach. This can mean heading to get naked at Denny Blaine or playing volleyball on Alki. Whatever beach you go to this summer, send us pics. Or it didn’t happen!!!

Joking aside, Kim and I are obsessed with beaches in Italy. Last summer we spent a month in southern Italy exploring the beaches of Campania and Puglia. This summer we are reconnecting with our Danish and Spanish friends in Northern Spain.

Fight Fascism With The Community

The Divas are no strangers to fighting for social justice. This is a mid-term year and our basic rights are holding on by a thread. I’m not going to joke around. You have to make a hobby of activism!

The only way we are going to get through this time is by being prepared, taking action, and coming together as a community.

Living life like a Diva means you don’t ever think of advocating for your community ends because we lose an election. Apathy and living in a state of shock and awe is not a path forward. The path of progress is choosing every day to work for the larger community!

Summer Prep For Fall Listing Season

Did you know that last August we were on the listing season prep hustle? It was intense. So much work happens behind the scenes. And then we realized that every August we are on the listing prep hustle. The weather is great and we can get a lot of outdoor projects completed.
