The top neighborhoods where you can buy a home with a view in Seattle are Fremont, Queen Anne, Blue Ridge, Matthews Beach, and more.

Where can you buy a home with a view in Seattle? Well, actually the question should be where CAN’T you buy a home with a view in Seattle? The layout and location of our city make it one of the best places to find views. Almost every neighborhood has a hill, is near a lake or a bay or the Sound, and we are surrounded by mountains. We are blessed with an abundance of amazing and diverse views here in Seattle!

I have to admit that knocking this list down to just 10 neighborhoods where you can buy  a home with a view in Seattle was incredibly hard. I mean, there are probably over 8 neighborhoods just in West Seattle alone where you can find fabulous sound, mountain, and downtown views. But here it goes:

  1. Fremont
  2. Queen Anne
  3. Blue Ridge
  4. Matthews Beach
  5. Madrona/Leschi

  7. Lakeridge

I’m Kim Colaprete with Team Diva at Coldwell Banker Bain. In this video, I’m focusing on sharing my top 10 favorite neighborhoods to buy a home with a view in Seattle. It was not easy to narrow it down to just 10, but this video could only be so long! I’m here in my latest Diva Dwelling listing in Fremont, which just happens to have some spectacular views. Thanks for joining me!

Where You Can Buy a Home with a View in Seattle?

Rooftop Deck of the Fremont Townhome with a View of Downtown Seattle, Mt. Rainier, and South Lake Union

Let’s dive in! Here are the best Seattle neighborhoods where you can buy a home with a view.

Fremont

View of Mt. Rainier and South Lake Union from Fremont

Oh, I know what you are thinking. Most folks don’t think of Fremont as a place where you can buy a home with a view in Seattle. But up on the top of the Fremont hill, you can find amazing territorial views of Downtown Seattle and Lake Union. And my new listing in Fremont offers views of the city and Lake Union. Then, head up to the roof deck to discover even more expansive views! Watch the sun sparkle off the Lake, enjoy the twinkling lights of the city, and even get a peek of Mt Rainier when the skies allow.

Queen Anne

Now, no one would question Queen Anne as having some sweet view homes. I mean Kerry Park is renowned for its stunning views. In Lower Queen Anne you can find homes and condos with Sound and/or Downtown views. Sometimes even a view of BOTH mountain ranges can be admired, and that would be the Cascade Mountains and Olympic Olympia Mountains. And of course Mt Rainier! On the top of the hill to the east, you get views of Lake Union and on the west, you get to revel in sweeping territorial views of Magnolia, the Bay, and the Olympics!

Blue Ridge

This neighborhood is small but mighty. It occupies a tiny quadrant of NW Seattle tucked next to the Puget Sound above Golden Gardens and Crown Hill. The views from all around this neighborhood are simply breathtaking. And the prices for those views also might take your breath away. Sweeping views of the Sound and the Mountains are not unusual in this area. There is also neighborhood beach access. Plus, this neighborhood is known for having some of the most unique Mid-Century Modern homes in the city. Which you know is a double plus for me.

Matthews Beach

I love this cute little neighborhood! Matthews Beach butts right up against the shores of  Lake Washington and also has a good number of cool mid-century homes. If you can snag a home on the east side of Sandpoint Way – you may be blessed with lovely picturesque views of Lake Washington and the Cascades. And like Blue Ridge – there is great beach access for summer swimming at Matthews Beach Park.

Madrona/Leschi

Views of Lake Washington fro the Leschi Marina

Ok, I’m cheating a little by lumping these two neighborhoods together. Although the Madrona and Leschi neighborhoods are quite different, they are right next to each other and both offer wonderful views of Lake Washington, the Cascades, and Downtown Bellevue. In both of these areas, you get a mix of home styles from Craftsman to high-design Modern. Both offer some access to the water for swimming or boating and both have small neighborhood business districts with shopping and dining options.

Seward Park

Ok of course I’m putting MY neighborhood on this list! Seward Park is my dream neighborhood. It has a plethora of mid-century modern homes, mixed in with some Craftsman, Tudors, and even a few sleek three-story new-construction homes. Here you get views of Lake Washington, the Cascades, incredible views of Mt Rainier, and views of Anderson Bay and Seward Park. Seward Park is also one of the few spots in Seattle where you can find—on a perfectly clear day—peekaboo views of Mt Baker to the north.

Lakeridge

I adore this neighborhood. Can you guess why? Yes—it is also filled with cool mid-century modern homes. And it has stunning views of Lake Washington, the Cascades, and Mt Rainier. AND… this is one of the few areas in Seattle where you can buy a home with a view of the water without breaking the bank! Here you can find a single-family home with a Lake Washington view without spending over $1 million. That’s pretty rare in the rest of Seattle.

Admiral / Alki in West Seattle

North Admiral View Home Twilight Seattle View, Seattle Waterfront, Elliott Bay View

My top choice is the Admiral / Alki neighborhood in West Seattle. Like how I did that again? I slipped in two neighborhoods together. I told you it was hard to just pick 10! Both of these West Seattle neighborhoods have the most unique views in Seattle. In some places, you can see the city skyline from across the water all the way from the Smith Tower to the Space Needle. I love these views because they are so interesting. We sold this rad Admiral home during the pandemic. It has one of those super unique views of the city, the water, and the stadiums. I remember sitting on this deck and thinking how magical it was to watch as the city and stadium just light up as the sun started to set.

Shorewood

View of the Puget Sound From Shorewood

Shorewood is a community that skirts the line between Seattle and Burien. Well, it’s technically in Burien, but it is only minutes to White Center. Shorewood is known for having super unique mid-century homes and sweeping Sound and Mountain views. Are you catching a theme here for this Diva’s favorite view neighborhoods? If you are looking for breathtaking Sound and Mountain views and can’t afford those Blue Ridge prices, come on down to Shorewood!

Downtown

Seattle Skyline
Seattle Skyline

The plethora of condo buildings in Seattle’s Downtown/Belltown and Pioneer Square communities offers numerous opportunities for City, Sound, Space Needle, Mountain, Mt Rainier, and even Lake Union views. Not to mention if you get high enough in any highrise, you will be able to see for miles and miles in any direction. The best views in downtown Seattle will cost you a pretty penny. But you can get a Space Needle view or a peekaboo Sound view for not a town of cash, especially now while the condo market is a little on the soft side.
