If you work for Amazon and you’re trying to shorten your commute into the office, we’re sharing the best neighborhoods to live near Amazon in Seattle. Maybe you’re a new employee, or having to return to the office. Or maybe you need to figure out how to have a place in the city and keep your dream house you bought during COVID. I get it—you bought a stunning four-bedroom, three-bath view home in Edmonds, or your suburban dream home in Issaquah during COVID. You never planned on returning to the hustle and bustle of urban city life.

Well, guess what? You don’t have to! (And anyway… the traffic sucks!)

One of the best ways to make your commute Amazon in Seattle easier is to own a fabulous, affordable pied-à-terre in one of the best neighborhoods to live near Amazon in Seattle.

Best Neighborhoods to Live Near Amazon in Seattle

You know we are Seattle’s neighborhood experts. We love Seattle and enjoy each and one of her many neighborhoods. These last few years have been really fascinating. First, everyone was buying a home outside of the city. But just recently we have had an influx of clients who hate the back-to-work Amazon commute and want to buy a home a bit closer in. But where should they look?

Here Are The Best Neighborhoods to Live In Near Seattle Near Amazon

The short list:

One Of Our Favorite Neighborhoods To Live Near Amazon In Seattle Is First Hill

First Hill is super close to downtown, Capitol Hill, transit, and of course Amazon. But did you know that First Hill has a growing food and going out scene. One of our long-time favorite spots is The Hideout on Boren. Birch Road is a fabulous private social club that we are considering joining. We also just recently discovered Coffee Tree Poke.

Plus, you’re only blocks from Madison Ave, the best hospitals in the city, and the Frye Art Museum—one of our favorite spots. First Hill’s proximity to Amazon’s offices—combined with its vibrant city life—makes it one of the best neighborhoods to live near Amazon in Seattle.

Consider Buying a Pied-à-Terre If You Want To Have A Home Close to Amazon But Keep Your Larger Home Outside of the City

A pied-à-terre traditionally means a small apartment or condo. It is a place to have in the city while maintaining a larger home outside of the city. Chavi and I are considering buying a pied-de-terre as part of our big downsize that is happening next year, specifically because of this convenience. Here in Seattle we would call a pied-à-terre a studio or a smaller one-bedroom condo.

Guess what? Right now you can buy an amazing condo for not a lot of money. There are so many great options found all in our favorite neighborhoods close to Amazon in Seattle. Ever wanted an in-city spot to relax after a long evening of fun? Or how about a place to sleep in town when you have one of those 6:30 a.m. flights? A pied-à-terre solves these problems for you.

Our Favorite Pied-à-Terre Near Amazon In Seattle Is On First Hill

Look—life changes fast. One day, we’re all working remotely, and the next, it’s back to the office grind. But what happens when things shift again? Now you have a prime in-city condo that can become a smart investment.

One of our favorite buildings close to Amazon is called the Old Colony. As you know, condos are having some issues. But the Old Colony is a rock solid building.

Here is why we love this building so much:

  • The Old Colony is one of those rare buildings with strong owner occupancy
  • No rental cap. That means you can easily transition to a long-term rental whenever you need. This condo was recently rented for $1,600 per month.
  • Pet-Friendly
  • Awesome Location
  • Well Managed
