Kim and I are your typical Seattle Dog Lovers. Our whole lives revolve around our doggies’ lives. I know you probably all think we have a busy social life. But honestly, it all rotates around when Emily the dog lover can take care of the doggies versus which days we are working from home. The vacations we go on are based on when someone can come and stay at the house with the doggies.

Just recently we lost our Diva Dog Hollis. He was a fixture in the early days of the DivaHQ at the Olive Street and SODO location. Hollis loved dogs more than people so we got him a rescue dog named Daisy. Our Hollis loved to chill in nature and observe everything, so we purposely thought through the type of yard we wanted when we bought our Lake House.

Let’s dive into the type of home that is perfect for dog lovers in Seattle. Obviously, you can see that we absolutely know a thing or two about what it means to be a human servant to our dogs!

What Type of Home Is Perfect For Dog Lovers in Seattle?

Yes, we are Seattle Dog Lovers, but really that also means that our clients share in our passion. Hence one of the requests we receive a lot when we do our buyer intake is specifically about what our clients NEED for their Seattle dogs in a home. Our clients also ask us which neighborhoods are the most dog friendly in Seattle. Luckily for you, we have a blog for Best Neighborhoods in Seattle for Dog Owners.

Here is what we think are the key elements for the perfect home for dog lovers in Seattle:

  1. Seattle Dog Lovers Need A Big Backyard
  2. Easy Access From The Home To An Outdoor Space
  3. Space For Dog Beds In EVERY Room
  4. Social Spots To Take Your Dog
  5. Great Neighborhoods With Nearby Parks

Seattle Dog Lovers Need A Big Back Yard

Donna just listed a home in Greenwood that is the quintessential home for a dog lover in Seattle. It has a huge and fully fenced yard. There is a cute little shed in the backyard to store all of your agility training tools for your doggy. Honestly, I can see a cute kiddy pool out here in the summer time just for the dogs, too!

Easy Access From The Home To An Outdoor Space

Nothing is more annoying than waking up and not having easy access to a private yard space when you have a doggy. A big part of my morning routine is to make coffee, let the dogs out, and then feeding the cats. I immediately get irritated anytime we stay in a hotel or a place where I have to get dressed to take the dogs out first thing in the morning.

Once again in Donna’s newest listing the back office has a charming double door that leads to a huge backyard. I can easily see getting up, getting my Matcha, and enjoying the serenity of watching the doggies romp around in this fabulous backyard.

Space For Dog Beds In EVERY Room

Diva Dogs Hollis and Daisy

Every Monday, I meet with Alyssa to go over the marketing for the week. The cutest part of the meeting is that Churro always makes a showing towards the end of the meeting. No matter where Alyssa is in her home, there is always a little spot for Churro.

In our home here in Seattle we have a different type of dog bed for the doggies. And of course at the Lake House, we have stunning dog beds for all of the Diva Dogs that come to visit.

Social Spots To Take Your Dog

Diva Dog Daisy

Remember Donna’s newest listing in Greenwood? One of the best things about the home is that there is a dog-friendly spot called Voff Bark and Brew. It is literally a couple of blocks away. You can go for a nibble and and bevvie and your doggy can make new friends and romp around.

Every neighborhood in Seattle has a pub or brewery that specifically caters to Seattle dog lovers. In our blog Best Neighborhoods in Seattle for Dog Owners we share details about the spots that have super dog-friendly parks and places to hang out. Donna’s new listing in Greenwood is close to several dog-friendly cafes and pubs.

Great Neighborhoods With Nearby Parks

Many of our Seattle clients who are dog lovers specifically look for homes that are close to parks. Luckily, Seattle is known for having many dog-friendly parks. Right now we have fourteen off-leash dog parks with more planned in South Seattle

Kim and I love taking a long dog walk through our local park of Seward Park. We know every trail and have regular dog pals we meet randomly in the park. It is a big part of our own routine. We take a dog walk and then go to brunch at a local cafe.

One of the things that makes me think that Donna’s newest home is perfect for a Seattle dog lover is the fact that it is mere minutes from Greenwood Park and Sandel Park. Two parks 10 minutes from this fab home…! It doesn’t get better than this!
