Whew what a whirlwind trip to NYC for the Divas. Jammed packed with awesome Coldwell Banker real estate pros from all over the country. Lots of pictures, conversations, twitter activity, and apparently Klout now tells you when you are in are the most influential person in a Foursquare checkin. Anyhoo – top takeaways from #GenBlue

Miss DonnaTella Howe making her Big Apple Debut at #GenBlue!

First off, thanks to everyone who supported our Diva Dweller DonnaTella Howe was shown Monday night on the big stage in front of over 2,000 #GenBlue goers.

Great service is a guided trip on the path to righteousness. We had three key incidents of amazing personal service. Our first night in NYC we made the trek down to Tribecca, which for the record is filled with your typical Wall Street suits and and wannabe power brokers. Kim made a reservation for an awesome restaurant late on Friday. We were seated at a great table with the super cute dyke, Miriam, AKA the best server ever. Every portion of the dining experience she took time to learn about our tastes and help choose awesome dishes, wine, and desserts that seriously blew my mind. She took time to write down a huge list of places we should go to including a recommendation to find and seek out the fabled Mr. Peaches. And then when that was not enough she even helped us hail a cab. #Divalicous

Mr. Peaches – The best things come from the unexpected. I tell my clients all of the time to just trust themselves. The right house always happens at the right time. Sometimes we were beat on a multiple offer. Or sometimes it seems like the search takes forever but it just comes down to instinct because the best comes when you least expect it to happen. So when Miriam the super waiter directed us to, once again, trek to the end of the Island for Mr. Peaches, you do as she says. Noel, Kim and I headed to a craft cocktail place with a fabled Mr. Peaches and the power empress of cocktails Kim. Noel knows Kim. And we know Mr. Peaches via Miriam. We are crowded into a crazy bar with Manhattan’s up and comers and finally find the secret roped off entrance. Noel asks for Kim and is smacked down. Kim then spies a lovely gay gentle giant of taste and distinction and goes up to say, “we were told to say hi to Mr. Peaches by xxx.” In seconds we were led behind the rope and up to the best designed craft cocktail bar I have ever seen. The best things happen when you do not expect it!

Friends are the Best. Some of our favorite peeps in the real estate world presented some knock your socks off content at the #GenBlue sessions. So much good stuff. The key item that we chatted with our folks about is that the more one understands who they are and the type of clients that resonate best with them, the happier and wealthier one will be in the crazy world. Yeah, the War (economic downturn) happened and we all felt like the sky was falling. Those of us who made it to the other side being top agents love what we do and more importantly really love the type of folks who want to work with us. And can we just say how super nice and humbling it was to see Katie Lance, Debra Trappen, Linda Aaron, and Sean Carpenter use the Divas website, social media and other interweb stuff in their presentations?! You are all the rockstars and we learn how to be awesome from you. THANK YOU!

Coldwell Banker pushes for more diversity. Both Budge Husky and Mike Fisher made huge statements that we as a company and an industry have been talking about: the changing demographics of our up-and-coming buyers and sellers. There is huge investment in the real estate market by Asian buyers. First and second generation immigrant families are buying and selling homes. And guess what? The gays sure like to buy a lot of houses too (I’m shocked)! This particular subject is near and dear to the Diva’s hearts. Majority of our clients are single women, gay folks, and multi-racial families. Just recently we had an underwriter hold up loan documents because he didn’t believe two women could be legally married. More understanding about diversity within our industry is critical to building and maintaining the reputation of our industry. Divas are looking forward to seeing Coldwell Banker take the lead on recruiting agents from diverse backgrounds and cultures, promoting more women, people of color, and GLBTQ folks to branch managers, and more importantly having corporate management and those invited to the main stage reflect the diversity of the clients the Divas serve everyday.

Fashion at GenBlue is pure divaliciousness. NYC fashion nails it with Diva Pal Amy. A Marc Jacobs bag made for Apple and a flirty little scarf. Blue suits are real big in NJ. Christophe brings the glitter. Oh and the gals of GenBlue are having a serious love affair with leopard print.

That Greg Fischer is a super nice guy. On a whim Greg, Divas, and Diva Pals spent our final night in NYC together. Greg is a young and very talented agent out of Ft. Worth, TX. He is hands down one of the savviest of tech folks out there. The funny thing is that we Divas share a love with Greg of a good old Excel spreadsheet and keeping in touch with our fav clients by meeting up for coffee/cocktails. You can be tech savvy, but always know when to put away the device. Greg is also working on a new project called Doorsteps. The site has amazing content for first time homebuyers (also something that Greg + the Divas love). Check it out!
