Kim, Sergey, Austin & Chavi at Whim W'Him
The Divas are always out and about in Seattle – working in real estate, connecting with our art community, supporting local businesses, attending events and checking out the local theater scene. But nothing compares to our Diva Dwellers Austin and Sergey. These boys are booked up every night. Both serve on the boards for great local non profits and attend more art happenings than is humanly possible. Its a treat to see the boys at an event and connect over a glass of sparkling wine.
The crowning moment of our social interconnectedness is when Chavi, Sergey, Austin and I appeared in Seattle Magazine’s Seattle Scene Pages for Whim W’him’s opening night at the Intiman Theatre. Fabulous dance mixed with great friends. And, of course, it was only a matter of time before the four of us made it into the society pages.

How did you meet the Divas? As fellow art-lovers, we met the Divas through Backstage Pass at the Pacific Northwest Ballet.

What type of home did you purchase? Contemporary townhome designed by Pb elemental.

What was your first “OMG” house moment? We realized this house was made just for us when we saw the extra tall counters and sinks–tall enough that our shorter loved ones have requested step-stools.

What is your greatest home extravagance? Anything from Kirk Albert Vintage Furnishings.  We love our letters from the original Paramount Theatre sign and our larger-than-life metal spring.

What is in your junk drawer? Chips clips, extra batteries, charcoal filters for our compost bin, zip-lock bags, and anything else you need for a DIY project.

Would You Rather?

  • Mow Lawn / Paint the Fence: Given that we have no grass to worry about, we’d rather mow the lawn any day of the week.
  • Untangle Computer Cords / Sort Socks: Our home is as wireless as possible, so the easier job is our pick once again.
  • Test the Smoke Detectors / Fix Squeaky Doors: Despite our cooking skills, we accidentally test the smoke detectors on a weekly basis.
  • Plunge the Toilet / Clean out the Refrigerator: Purging food from the refrigerator is not a chore for us; keeping it fully stocked is the real challenge
  • Clean the Gutters / Take Down Holiday Decorations: Do we even have gutters?

What is your favorite Hood hangout spot? The Station coffee shop located (not surprisingly) near the Beacon Hill light rail station.  We’re also stoked about the upcoming opening of Bar del Corso woodfire pizzeria on Beacon Avenue.

What is your favorite local organization/non-profit? It’s a toss-up between Seattle Works and Social Venture Partners.  Both do amazing work to engage the Seattle community and improve the quality of life.

What do you love the most about your house? The rooftop deck for its breathtaking views of the Puget Sound (and Olympic Mountains on sunny days).  We’ve invested a lot of love to make this a favorite hangout spot for family and friends.

This summer I’m sure we will run into Austin and Sergey at a fundraiser for Seattle Works or tasting pizza at Bar del Corso in one of our favorite hoods – North Beacon Hill.
