I’m sharing what I love most about this beautifully updated Meadowbrook Midcentury home.

What are the best things about this Meadowbrook Midcentury Home? First, this home has the perfect layout. Really! Effortless living spaces, and versatility galore are yours here. 3 bedrooms, a home office, a huge bonus space, and more provide flexibility. Secondly, I am in awe at the level of detail and attention that went into updating and remodeling this home, from the kitchen to the doors and trim throughout the house. Speaking of updating, this home has all of the “boring” things updated, too—a new roof, new furnace, and much more are all yours to benefit from. The fenced backyard is ready for play and parties, and when you’d like more outdoor space, head to the Burke-Gilman Trail or to nearby parks.

Top 5 Things I Love About this Meadowbrook Midcentury Home

I’m Roy Powell with Team Diva at Coldwell Banker Bain, and I’m excited to show you this midcentury home in Seattle’s Meadowbrook neighborhood that has everything going for it. Seriously. The house itself offers updates, has been carefully maintained, and is in a great location. But that’s only the tip of the iceberg.

Here are the top 5 things I love about this Meadowbrook Midcentury home

Truly, The Perfect Layout

This midcentury rambler comes with a full basement, and when I say that this home has the perfect layout, this is what I mean: There is a ton of versatile space thanks to 3 bedrooms, a massive bonus room in the basement, and a home office. And the living area on the main level offers great flow for both everyday life, and for entertaining. There is even easy access to the backyard from the kitchen for indoor-outdoor living perfection!

Right when you step in through the front door, you’re welcomed into the beautiful living room with a wood burning fireplace. The layout from here wraps around into the dining area, and then into the kitchen. And down the hall, you’ll find 3 bedrooms and 1 bath. Even more space and privacy can be found in the basement. This expansive space would make the ideal primary suite, a fun bonus space for hanging out, or even a MIL space or rental. We thought the utility room could be a great spot for a kitchenette! The whole space could be reworked a few different ways, too, if you wanted to do something different in the future.

A Remodel with Attention to Detail

From the moment I first saw this Meadowbrook Midcentury Home, I have been in awe at the attention to detail the sellers put into their remodel. It was a true labor of love, and no expense was spared. In fact, this home was meant to be a forever home, but plans changed!

In 2022, they replaced the roof. The sellers also remodeled the kitchen this year, and that meant brand-new custom cabinetry everywhere! This cabinetry is hand-built and hardwood, and is alongside new counters, lights, and more. The seller bought this home in 2015, and between then, many more updates were made. All trim and doors were replaced, and all upstairs windows have been replaced with wood-clad vinyl windows. And that’s just the beginning—you need to see it for yourself. This is also not including all of the more basic work that’s been done… but more on that later on in the blog.

A Huge Backyard Perfect for Play & Parties

I love the backyard. It’s huge! My dog Peppercorn and her friends would have tons of space to run around on the fully fenced lawn. The sellers did a lot of “ugly” work here, and by that I mean they did a lot of drainage work in the yard to make it more usable. This means you get to focus more on fun, and personally, I would add some planter beds into the mix to drink in the southern sun exposure!

There is also a big stone patio and a fire pit, and you know what that means: This backyard getaway is ready for parties and BBQs come summer. There’s room for all of your friends and new neighbors!

Effortless Outdoor Access

Most Seattleites love being close to a good park and trail. And this home has both. For starters, Burke-Gilman Trail is just to the east. Meadowbrook Pond offers all sorts of wildlife to check out. And Meadowbrook Community Center is just down the street (they have an indoor pool!). The area in general is also easy to get around in, whether you need to head to Northgate to hop on the Link Light Rail, or you want to head to the beach at Matthew’s Beach.

The “Ugly” Work Has Already Been Done in this Meadowbrook Midcentury Home

What do I mean by the “ugly” work? Well, it’s the work that new homeowners are not excited about, but it’s work that is absolutely essential to make sure your home runs right! This Meadowbrook Midcentury Home features a new roof, a newer furnace, new paint and trim, a remodeled kitchen, new windows, a sump pump in the utility room… and more. There is even a level two car charger on the house in the driveway. The sellers thought of everything!
