GET TO KNOW Kent
Outdoor activities, fine and casual dining, entertainment and shopping abound in Kent. Just north of Tacoma. Though it's a little bit further away from Seattle, Kent is actually a little less blue collar than its neighboring towns. Thanks to a significant corporate presence, especially the REI HQ. It's an apt home for the outdoor lifestyle retail giant. There are plenty of parks and trails in its immediate vicinity. Plus the Snoqualmie ski resort and Mt. Rainier National Park are a short trip away. The major retail center is Kent Station. An indoor/outdoor shopping and entertainment complex.
WHERE TO SHOP
Kent Station: Big box shops, restaurants, an AMC theatre and a branch of Green River College (because why not?).

WHERE TO BE OUTSIDE
Hogan Park: Year round activities (including ice-skating in winter), picnic areas and riverside trails.
WHERE TO EAT
Maza Grill: A local favorite, serving halal steaks, Pakistani and Lebanese cuisine, and delights from around the mediterranean.
WHERE TO DRINK
Mama Stortini's: A regional chain with solid Italian food and a full bar with early and late happy hours.
