Belltown/Downtown

As the center of commerce, it doesn’t get much more convenient for everyday shopping than Downtown Seattle. As the center of transit, it’s simply the best for urban explorers who don’t want to drive much. And for those seeking out culture, the Seattle Art Museum and Benaroya Hall are in the heart of it all. This is along with other venues for big productions, like The Paramount Theatre and 5th Avenue Theatre. After catching a show, a huge variety of dining options await. The problem is never finding a place, but choosing among the countless options. And yet, as the downtown Seattle core is not really the center of nightlife, you typically won’t face noisy crowds.

Belltown is adjacent to downtown. It is one of the few areas of the city that is 100% condo and apartment living. And as far as downtown property goes, it doesn’t get much more centrally located than Belltown. This urban neighborhood is within walking distance of Pike Place Market and the business and retail district surrounding it. Belltown is one bus (or light rail ride) from every other part of the city, but it has its own attractions that keep things lively day and night. This is definitely not a neighborhood for light sleepers, as weekend crowds that include locals and out-of-towners pack the bars, restaurants, and nightclubs along 1st and 2nd Avenue… and eventually spill out into the street at closing time. But if you love the nightlife (or sleep with earplugs), want an urban view more than a lawn, and are energized by cultural activities, Belltown is a perfect place for you.
